The star of the menu is undoubtedly the crispy pork. Alongside it, the red BBQ pork (char siew) stands out with its tender texture and subtle sweetness, creating a perfect contrast of flavors. Thai sausage and soft-boiled eggs complement the meat dishes, each bite accentuated by a cleverly served sweet and savory sauce gracefully placed on the edge of the plate to maintain that pristine presentation and allow you to tailor every mouthful to your liking.
Thanee’s ambience is simple and unpretentious yet pulsing with the energy of a beloved local gathering spot. The service is fast and efficient, ideal for a quick but thoroughly enjoyable meal whether you’re ducking in for lunch or exploring the neighborhood. It’s worth noting that the restaurant operates on a cash-only basis, so come prepared to savor this authentic experience without hassle.
Reviewers commonly praise the restaurant’s value—offering portions that are generous and flavors that rival pricier establishments. While some mention that it may not be a destination to travel across the city for alone, Thanee shines as a must-visit when you find yourself wandering the vibrant, historic Ari district. Its menu is thoughtfully presented with English and Chinese translations, ensuring tourists can navigate and enjoy with ease.
If you’re a lover of robust, crispy pork dishes or seeking an affordable taste of Thai-style roasted meats, Thanee Khao Moo Daeng promises a culinary experience that’s as memorable as it is delicious. You absolutely have to try the crispy pork here it’s the highlight of the menu. The prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Just a heads up: it’s cash only, so come prepared! Also, if you ask for the sauce separately, they’ll serve it on the side of the plate rather than in a separate bowl. Highly recommended.

Finally visited Thanee Khao Moo Daeng, and like some of the reviewers mentioned, the food was just above average, roast pork was crispy, char siew was pretty tender and the noodle I had was good. As a tourist, I wouldn't say that the food is worth travelling to Ari just for a meal, but if you are exploring the cool Ari area, you might want to have a meal here. Menu with English, Chinese versions are available.

Unassuming place around the business building. But very crowded and filled with locals. Highly recommend for tourist to try their roasted pork! Very crispy and flavourful. Their eggs were nice too. To avoid lunch crowd maybe head over after 1230.

Thanee Khao Moo Daeng is a must-visit for crispy pork lovers. The red BBQ pork is tender, the crispy pork belly adds crunch, and the sweet-savory sauce ties it all together perfectly. Simple setting, fast service, and great value. Don’t miss the mixed plate—it’s the best way to try it all.

I ordered their rice with crispy pork and chinese sausage, the presentation is beautiful. I liked how they put the sweet sauce on the edge of the plate, not pouring it all over the rice and the meat. Not messy at all. The crispy pork was so crunchy on the skin, tender meat and the fat was so juicy. The sweetness of chinese sausage melted in your mouth, tasty and delicious. Service was ok, affordable price too. Definitely will be back again. Highly recommended.

Love the Roast Pork, the skin light and crispy, the fat part melts in yr mouth. Best roast pork I had so far in Bangkok. The sausage and soup for the noodles also tasty, but can omit the wanton dumpling. This store is mainly visited by the locals and hope it stay this way ;)

Thanee is an institution. It's popular and seating is hard to come by during peak lunch hours, with many office workers from the vicinity opting to do takeaway. It's popularity is by no means misplaced and both it's roasted and BBQ pork are what those crowds come for. Every time I come my choice on the menu is always No 1, which is the rice with all the bells and whistles ( roasted red pork, bbq pork, Chinese style sausage and hard boiled egg). The skin of the bbq pork has a coarse crumpled appearance but it has a pleasing crispiness and crunch, one that always bring a smile to my face ! The red roasted pork or char shiu is perhaps a little dry for my liking, but tasty all the same. The Chinese sausage has less fat than what you'd find elsewhere in Asia and is maybe a little more sinewy and chewy. That's not a complaint by the way and I like it that way too. Slathered over all of this is an ochre colored sauce that is treaclely in consistency and a perfect combination of sweet and savory, perfect for elevating plain white rice when mixed in with it. Thanee has been my 'go to' place for moo krob for a long time now. Five stars then, now and probably far into the future !

A popular lunch spot for office workers. I visited around noon, and the atmosphere was quite hectic, but I didn’t mind it. This shop prefers cash payments over QR code payment. I even heard one of the older staff members complaining when a customer tried to pay using a QR code. As for the food, the red pork and crispy pork were average in taste, but the sauce was a bit too sweet for me.
